Biography

Pam Doyle is an internationally award-winning photographer working and living in the town of Canmore in the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains, located 10 minutes from the town of Banff and Banff National Park.

Pam has worked steadily as a photojournalist for the past 20 years and she has been employed at newspapers across Western Canada. For the past 12 years, she has been the chief photographer at the Canmore Leader and for the past two years she has also been the chief photographer for the Banff Crag and Canyon.

Pam has her own busy photography business, Photography by Pam Doyle. She specializes in photographing sports action, as well as scenic photography highlighting the beautiful Rocky Mountains, family portraits in nature and attractive portraits of pets, commercial photography, corporate groups, weddings and special occasions.

Pam published a full-colour coffee table book in 2007, entitled Canmore, Kananaskis and the Canadian Rockies, which has been a best seller and is still selling strong. The book makes a great souvenir of the Rockies, and has also been used extensively as a thank-you gift to award-winning athletes, attendees to local conferences and VIPs. Pam's photographs have been published in newspapers and glossy magazines around the world, websites and books. She has won many awards for her photography. One image, which has become known around the world, is of a blue-eyed sled dog looking out of its kennel. The photograph won a Special Mention at the prestigious 2005 Banff Mountain Photography competition. The image also appeared on MSNBC.Com and it won the People's vote for the 'This Week in Pictures' feature for the week of February 17, 2005. The photograph also ran in daily newspapers across North America.

In 2006, Pam was invited to hold a photography exhibit portraying life in Canmore and it was hosted at an art gallery in Canmore's sister city of, Higashikawa, Japan. During that time, Pam was treated to a weeklong stay in Higashikawa.
